Some of our teachers have a myspace, and once in a while they'll tell us that they seen our profile and looked at our pictures. i don't really think that's right. they even told us that they looked up every single person in my class on myspace, and were studying our profiles. that made us all mad: so most of us just used false last names so no teacher can look us up.
tell me....do you think teachers should keep a close eye on student's myspaces?
Do you think it's wrong for teachers to look at student's myspaces?
If it's on myspace, it's in the public domain. You cannot control what they look at, unless you make your profile private.

It is a public forum so anyone can look you up.

i dont think its wrong just wierd but you know you can set your profile to private so no one who you dont want to see it does

technically, it's an open forum so they can look. at my small private college a lot of girls were taking some pretty risque photoshoots and putting them on facebook. nothing that was actually porno, but it was close. some administrators tried to censor them and tell them they had to take those albums off because it would influence prospective students. the admin didn't get away with it; individual colleges and high schools don't own the rites to the school's facebook, so they couldn't do anything. kind of a sense of free speech....
BUT a lot of college kids are toning down their myspace, facebook, and blogs because prospective employers WILL check. if all the photos are of you drunk at a party, they're going to think twice about how responsible you are and if they want to hire you.
oooor you can keep the fun and just set it so only friends can look and not everyone.

I think if you post it, then it's pretty much free rain for anyone who wants to look you up and find you.
What are you posting that a teacher couldn't see but everyone else can? That doesn't make sense to me.

As long as they are not trying to pick up minors this way.
And to the guy that said "college kids [sic]", they are legally adults, not children. Sorry about that comment, but I am getting sick of the English language being butchered like that. Thumb me down if you wish.
